The Pathless on Paths---------Chapter VI part 2(9)

The two gave it no time to react, firing simultaneously they fell the monster. As it fell the corridor beyond was revealed, and they saw several more zombie-like things. Karrson the head of one through the cross-hairs of his optic and fired, moving to the next target as his last enemy fell the back of its head taken out. Within a few seconds the path was clear. It was just at this time that a cry cut through the air from Hunter behind them.
“HOLY SHIT RUN! A HOARD OF THEM!”
They took off, dashing pass many more corridors and rooms where more of them came and joined the hoard, drawn by their gunfire. Luckily they were far from agile, and could but keep at the tail of the company, now running for their lives. They rounded the corner, and came to another hall where many of those things stood, swaying, apparently too obtuse to notice the company. It was just when the hoard behind them was drawing near the turn, and the trio stood flustered, desperate, and pathless, did a door they had overlooked open, and a voice sound from within:

“Quick! In!”
