When Karrson had reorientated himself again, he could feel blood rushing to his head. He was upside down, the only thing preventing him from falling onto the roof of the aircraft was his seat belt. The dizziness and sickness the rough landing had given him began to recede, the shock and adrenalin rush also. Now he had to contrive a way to leave his seat without a painful head-first fall onto the roof covered with glass shards. He found no way to extract himself in the way that he could land on his feet: it would seem that the fall could only be softened, not prevented. He reached for the buckle of his seat belt, but found that he was unable to unfasten it. A prototype, Karrson thought, one must not expect too much of it. He felt for the buckle again and released his seat belt slowly. When it was lose enough, he drew himself from under it and tuck out his arms to break him fall. That did not make the fall any more enjoyable, but for the least the cuts were now on his forearms and not his face, a substantial improvement.
