Once more they pulled open the door, and again they emerged into the infecteds filled corridors. Deeper they went, through sets of security doors, over large pieces of fallen equipment. They fired only very occasionally, and made speed their best weapon of evasion.
Eventually they came to vast room, greater than any of the rooms or chambers they before entered. It’s height was so great it seemed to stretch to the level above. It was configured much alike to a large warehouse: Rows upon rows of wide shelves of boxed cargo, some simply in wood, others in more advanced containers, covered with attractive hazard signs. The lights high above them were extinguished, the humongous warehouse only lit by scattered emergency lights that grew dim, nearing depletion of their power. They stood some two stories above the floor, looking down upon it. In more open and less packed spaces father away they could see many cargo transporters: from the simple forklift to great lifts fixed in place, their arms of steel reach out of the sea of cargo like sharp reefs amid dangerous waters, the steel cables only thin black lines seen from afar
