Everyone was on the ground when they climbed into the maintenance tunnel. Clark groaned and said, “God...I knew I shoulda lost some weight...why is this so god-damned hard...”
“This shit ain’t easy for nobody, mate,” Sanders said. He grimaced as he took a drink of water.
“How long have we been underground?” Karrson asked. “A day and a half at least.” Hunter asked. Karrson looked towards Emmerich, who nodded. “Somewhat.”
After a while, they reluctantly rose and began climbing again. “Cheer up,” Sanders told a very dismayed Clark. “Just one floor away.” He pulled Clark up, who said, “I am never touching a ladder again in my life after this. Never! Again!”
