Just as he wondered what was happening, he was woken by a tremendously loud boom and several alarms going off at once. He rubbed his eyes and looked around. Everyone was in their seats, buckling their seat belts. The aircraft was vibrating violently, and through one of the windows Karrson could see a trail of smoke comming from the engine. They were losing height.
“Everyone hold tight!” Emmerich shouted from the cockpit, as his voice mixed with the alarms and the curses of Clark. “We just collided with something in the air, we have no choice but to do a forced landing!”
