He took a deep breath, and with a “Hope I don’t die,” leaped from the edge. He began free falling, and the abyss rushed up to greet him. He saw the bottom now, a dull gray surface. Now he would have to wait. The ground drew near at an awkward pace, and he had time to think much before impact. When he estimated he was five seconds away, he closed his eyes and screwed up his brows. “Right about now,” he said aloud, but nothing happened. A inestimable amount of time passed, his heart racing faster with each moment.
