“The cargo distribution center,” Clark informed them. “All the materials this facility purchases is centralized here: from food to nuclear fuel and strange specimens that make one wonder about their origin. The reactor is built near here, for the convenience of fuel transportation.”
“What’s that?” Hunter pointed at something barely visible, far behind the curtain of darkness.
“A very, very big lift. The area larger than a basketball court. It is built for transport trucks, and will reach level one. The thing makes a huge racket when operating. I have had the luck to see it ascend, though I seldom come here. Fro afar it looks as if a piece of the ground was lifted away. It operates on slanted rails. Every level has an opening like this,” he pointed to a huge opening in the roof above the great lift, “for it to pass through. It is verily by this that all here is transported underground.”
