“Wait. I see movement.” Emmerich swiftly shouldered his rifles and aimed down the optics. Where his light shone the bodies started to turmoil. There was a fleshy noise, like flesh being tread and bone being crushed. Something was moving inside the pile of bodies. Something their light had woken. Though he know that, Karrson could not help desperately hope that it was only caused by the natural degradation of the carcasses and not some monster that had burrowed itself into mounds of dead humans, as he shouldered his rifle and took aim.
