“What are you waiting for?” Emmerich asked him. “No time to lose. The farther we get from that thing the better.”
“Indeed, but it would soon be on our tail again. I have an idea. We must destroy it. Clare, axe, please.” He took the red bladed axe from the man, and swung it at the crack of one of the elevator doors. The elevator was not on this level, so the door opened directly to the elevator-well. Karrson looked down and above. There were some seventy meters to the bottom, and the elevator seemed to be just one level above. A ladder was set besides the door. “Perfect...” Karrson muttered. “You all ought to retreat to the stairs and close the door. If I don’t come back in three minutes, then fly.”

“Hey, what are you gonna do? We ain’t leaving you here? Com’on and get the hell out of here. NOW, because the door’s not gonna hold long.” Hunter said, lying his hands on Karrson’s shoulders.
“You go. Have faith in me. I will return victorious.” Karrson chuckled and pushed him away. “I am resolved to slay that abomination. And, no, I will not let you stay, only one person can be here.”
