Karrson called Hunter for help, and together will great effort they lifted the shutter door up, it rolled above their head, and finally locked into place. Karrson and Hunter followed the rest of the company and entered the aircraft, an unsure looking Clare behind.
The inside of the craft was, not exceeding his expectations, an undecorated space, with the exposed metal hull as the walls, and some simple seats that lined both sides of the carriage, just enough for the company of six. Small windows lined booth sides of the hull. Emmerich asked Clark to sit in the cockpit with him. Karrson found a seat with Hunter at his side, and buckled up.
“Folks,” Clark’s voice came from the front. “Be patient, it may take a while, but we’ll work this out.”
Karrson was more than fine with that, for he had not rested for an unguessed time, and he felt miserable and weary. He leaned his head back against the metal hull, and nodded off.
All black. No dreams.
He was waken by an uplifting jolt. There was a high-pitched whirring noise. He shook his head, attempting to drive the drowsiness from him. He lifted his hand to his face, wanting to rub his eyes, but touched only his glass visor. He sighed. Hunter was still awake beside him. “Do you need sleep at all?” He asked him.
