Kqarrson tried to close one of them, but found that it was incredibly difficult. He held the thing away and looked at it again. The shape reminded him of...a manually operated compatible generator! Of course! He held the recorder in his hand, and squeezed it. The two flaps retracted towards the main body, and the slight vibration felt through his hand told him he was correct. As long as he could prevent the flaps from locking back into place, he could charge the recorder! It seemed that whoever had designed this recorder had thought of such a need, and incorporated it in. Queer though, thought Karrson. Who would have thought that this would be necessary? It was almost like they knew that the user would be in such a condition. Almost?
Karrrson believed even more that this recorder from Mr. Noah, no, Dr. Kater, had more secrets to be revealed, but at this time Emmerich returned.
“I told you I will be fine. Good tidings, Emily, I now know where we need to go; ill tidings, this river looks uncanny.”

“What...?” Karrson stood with the others by the river that had “cut” the hill, their current natural barricade. It was wide and swift of flow, passing over the rocks in its course, bubbling as if boiled, only that the foam was not white, but a yellowish green. The river’s water was green also, and murky, as if green sand or particles were suspended inside. A layer of yellowish green foam nearly covered the entire moving surface, so the river looked more like a flowing belt of green and revolting carpet, and not water. Another thing to their dismay, was that they found that the river was in fact wider than it seemed when they were on the hill, becoming impossible to wade without a transport vehicle.
