Emmerich halted by a large stone and crouched down, Karrson following suit. Before them was a climbing path beaten through the thin undergrowth, a band of naked land free of the covering of fallen leaves. It was well trodden, and marked by dusty stones on either side. Emmerich looked back at the company. Clark was sweating, and Sanders was still catching his breath, even more pale in the face.
“Rest a little, then it is a final sprint up this path. Let us see how well Dr. Kater developed this place, and hope that we are the first to be there.”
