“An underground recreation of the surface. Built to fulfil the needs of those who seldom return to there surface homes. It should have an artificial sun, though that is now missing.”
“An artificial sun. Like a miniature nuclear fusion reactor floating in the air?” Hunter asked, shocked.
“No. A solar-globe, that’s how Giavoni refers to it. A high-powered light that gives out heat and light similar to sunshine, floating in the air supported by suspenders. It is constantly charged by an energy field enclosing this square. Judging by the fact that it is no longer alight, the field should also be off. The square is a sign, we are close now to the center, where we must choose a path that will lead us deeper down.”
They crossed the square. Karrson found that there was actually a small lake at the center of the greenery. A comfortable place to rest this would be, if they were not so hurried now. As they neared the start of another corridor at the other other end of the square, Karrson noticed something in the long grass. He pointed it out to Hunter. A basketball-sized round object, its surface was of a sleek and reflective material in black.
