“...I am not quite sure what happened,” He heard Emmerich explaining the cause of their crash to the others. “Something collided with us. Perhaps a mutated bird, or something akin to that. I did not expect that, and it was not until it streaked pass the front windows did I notice it, but that was far too late. It seemed to have hit engine two, and damaged the left wing, so we lost power on that side. I did my best to bring us to a landing of less lethality. How luck eludes us!”
“Unfortunate indeed we may be,” Karrson said, “but let us be rejoiced that it did not hit the cockpit, or we should have lost a valuable man. Our errand lies before us still, and for the moment it seems we shall have to rely on our feet. Let us find our way first.”
