His broken thoughts were interrupted by a shout from Emmerich over the loud roar of the engines and splashing water.
“Hey, look at that. I knew there would be more...and what may that be ahead...?”
Karrson had been staring into the floor, but he now raised his head and looked over the edge of the boat. A length of river stretched before them in a straight line, but in the distance, drawing nearer, was...a turn. A hasty, right-angled turn that turned the river from east-wast flowing to north-south flowing. And along the turning banks and the straight banks, were scattered buildings in the likes of the one they had just left behind, on either side.
