“Ready?” Emmerich shouted to them from the ither side of the car. He stood beside the open door so as to not effect his firing of the grenade but also to be able to jump into cover in needed.
“Yeah!” Hunter shouted back.
Karrson saw Emmerich fiddle with the sights on his grenade launcher for a moment. He then adjusted his stance for firmer footing, and took aim at a pile of rubble some forty meters in front of them.
“Hey! Hang on! What if it’s attracted to lights? We can try turning the headlights off.” Karrson suddenly shouted out.
“Negative. We can’t afford to go around blind in this place!” Emmerich shouted back. He fired.
A “pop” sounded the grenade’s firing, and a large explosion further away followed in less than a second, sounding the grenade’s impact and detonation. A shower of debris and mud flew up from it’s place of impact, falling in the area around.
The creature still stood unmoving and unblinking.
Karrson felt the trigger with his forefinger. If it will make any move to assail them, it would likely come now. He heard Emmerich finish reloading marked by a click as he slid the tub back again into place. He stole a quick glace at him. Emmerich was now readjusting the sights on the launcher to fit the closer range. He shouldered his rifle again, and pointed it at the creature.
