He looked around at his companions. He was not the only one to have noticed, and all were now alarmed. Their speed slowed as they struggled to progress over the swift and disturbed currents of the bend, as they began rounding the tight turn. They could do nothing save watch, as the hunting aircraft drew near. What it would do to them Karrson knew not. Perhaps hack them down with machine gun fire as they would do to some bandits who stole one of their boats, or perhaps they knew who they were, and would take some other course of action? Surely Giavoni could not have forgotten about Dr. Kater and his countermeasure, however many years have passed since they found about it. He remembered the officer’s words again. Yes, Giavoni was after them, but do they know they were the very ones they have been in search of in years? All they could do was wait, and hope for the best.

The whirring noise had gown to deafeningly loudness, and every detail on the aircraft had become visible as they finally pulled out of the sharp bend. The river was swifter on this side, but its currents more ordered, and their speedboat was still powerful, and so they could advance at a fair speed again. A speed that was, unsurprisingly, no match for the speed of a aerial vehicle. Within seconds the aircraft zoomed over them with a mighty gust of air, kicking up the water around them into to air, forming a light mist. It had passed them without slowing, and was now ahead, though it seemed to be banking northwards, turning slowly. It took Karrson a few seconds to react.
