The Pathless on Paths---------Chapter IV part 2(4)

Some in his class eyed them with awe or interest, others with respect and worry. They, Karrson knew, would the barricades on his way out. The row call ended. He raised his hand and asked to be allowed to be the bathroom. The teacher, seeing the fact that they were still far from the classes boarding, reluctantly let him go. He picked Karrson as his buddy. They had purposely packed lightly, bringing only what they had that would help them on their journey, thus they carried only a rucksack each.

“What’s next?” Hunter asked, shouldering his pack, a little worried. So far he saw no opportunity to slip away.
“Weapons,” answered Karrson. “We may not have to use them but we must have them. Remember what Dr. Kater said in the recording?”
He saw in the dim corridor that two soldiers on chatting by a vending machine in the staff’s lounge were speaking to a man in GIavoni uniforms. The trio then left their positions and came passed them, going the other way. All this was seen by the guard standing by the temporary armory that the military had replaced the original food storage room.
