Clark cursed as he pulled a small glass shard from his arm. As far as Karrson could tell every window was shattered, and the aircraft had lost power: in short, it would never leave the ground again. They pulled Emmerich out of his seat, and Clark carried him into the cabin with Hunter.
“Let us make hast and leave,” Karrson said, as he pulled on the lever that opened the hatch door, moving it with difficulty. “I believe we have mutual knowledge, damn this thing really is stuck quite bad, that a crashed aircraft is no place to tarry.” With an effort he finally manged to open the hatch door, which now was tilted upward slightly, revealing only the sky for their eyes to see.

The Pathless on Paths---------Chapter VII part 2

While the others carried Emmerich out, Karrson called Hunter over and began searching and recovering their equipment. Their guns were still on them, so they merely have to find the rucksacks. In minutes time the had recovered their own, but Emmerich’s remained missing. Karrson could smell the leaked fuel, its pungent fumes stabbing his noise. He hoped there were no sparking wires near at hand.
Soon her found the heavy rucksack and carried it to the hatch door, and slid it to hunter who awaited outside. Hunter laid the rucksack on the ground and pulled him out. Karrson flipped himself through the hatch door, and landed on the dusty and soft ground. He picked up the rucksack and with Hunter hurried after their companions, who were gathered further away from the crash site, lest there be an explosion. They were dealing with their minor injuries, it seemed.
