“Not any more, for you are about to find out.” replied Karrson as he rummaged in his rucksack for the portable recorder. Annoyingly, when the girl came she decided to site right besides his rucksack. His fingers touched the familiar alloy surface of the recorder. As he pulled it out he felt something soft touch the back of his hand. He looked and saw that it was in fact a strand of the girl’s short silver hair. The sense of the touch somehow made his heart jump, and he was relived to see that she had noticed nothing, fidgeting with the sights on her rifle, an M4 carbine. May she never know that, he thought.

“Well, here you go,”said Karrson after he had found the recording among the many voice logs he had made. “Just press play......”
