“Ellie and Elliot?” He chuckled softly.
“We’re twins,” I explained. I dragged my hands over my face to wipe off the rainwater clinging to my skin before flicking my fingers toward the floor mat beneath me to get rid of the droplets. Then I wiped my palms on the dry upholstery of the seat since my clothes were already soaked and would be no help in drying my hands.
“You have a twin? How come I haven’t seen her around school?”
“She doesn’t go to Pinecrest anymore,” I said, shaking my head lightly to myself. “She’s insanely smart so she took an exit exam to get out of high school early. Now she’s loading up on cheap credits at KVCC before she heads off to a real university.”
“What’s KVCC?”
“Sorry, I keep forgetting you’re new around here,” I apologized. “It’s Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She’ll be graduating in the spring with an associate of applied science.”
“What’s her major?”
“Business administration, I think. She wants to be in some kind of management position someday. It makes sense. She likes telling people what to do and she’s very organized.”
“Sounds like she’s got her life together,” he commented, his right hand perched on top of the steering wheel and his posture relaxed.
