At the sound of the final bell, I hurried out the door and ran to my locker. Today would not be a good day to miss the bus, so I wasted no time in getting my things. The halls were loud and chaotic as locker doors creaked open and slammed shut all around me. I had just put my last textbook in my bag and zipped it up when I heard someone fall heavily a short distance down the hall from me.
