“No problem.” He offered a warm smile in return as I opened the door and ducked back out into the rain. I practically ran to the front door. Once there, I quickly unlocked it, stepped inside, and closed it behind me.
It was obvious the house was empty. There were no lights on, and the only sound to be heard was the rain pounding against the windows, walls, and roof. I ran my hand through my soaked hair again, leaned back against the door, and inhaled deeply.

“Home sweet home.”
