一只铅笔所带来的故事(4)

"Yes, Mom," I replied, smiling back. "I just need some rest."
"That' s all I can ask," she told me before sitting on the floor and starting to fold my clothing. "What did you guys eat for lunch today? Did you eat something besides eggs?"
"Just cereal."
My mom gave my belly a light pat and then stood up once she finished folding my clothes.
"Don't worry, everything is going to be okay," she reassured. She then turned to look at my best friend. "And you' ve made everything perfect, haven't you?"

For the past month and a half, my mother, my sister and I had spent almost every second together. At first, it was fun as all we had been doing for so long was going to the park every weekend. But soon the constant nagging of my mother became unbearable as my periods continued to appear. So, she decided to try everything to help with the problem.And although none of it worked, she tried her damnedest, until we were forced to move to another city.
"Yeah, yeah, everything's fine," my friend said, rolling her eyes. "It's not like he was actually gonna get rid of it."
