"Maybe you should call your mom?" she suggested. She knew how much I missed her when she was at work and I never got to see her during my school days.
"She's probably already on her way."
As usual, I was right. Not five minutes after the phone rang, my mother walked into the room and knelt beside the bed.
"Oh, sweetie," she murmured, kissing my forehead. "Are you feeling better?"
Even though my mother would usually be angry at me for making such a mess, she didn't seem upset at all. Instead, she smiled at me and reached over to stroke my hair.
