She opened her eyes in shock as she heard a bang of wood against steel and stared as the pile of wooden drawers she had just imagined topple from her pillows, crashing to the floor. Apparently, she hadn’t fully grasped how to direct the precise location of the object, Cecy thought, but she couldn’t resist a smile as she walked forwards to righten it. If these things could Appear, what about other things? Posters, books perhaps? She tried, yet nothing hAppened.

It seemed that the room only allowed furniture to Appear from thin air, Cecy thought, a bit disgruntled, but she could buy other things soon.
Pulling open the top drawer, she stuck the pair of scissors and balls of string inside it, then unwillingly picked up the newspaper lying on the floor with one hand, found a relatively clean side and laid it underneath the two items. Then, satisfied, she stepped into the golden mirror, and closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she saw Alberto and Lydia standing in front of her.
