Biography of Liu Yu(2)
Liu Yu grew up poor and at first served as a general in the Beifu Army. He first showed his high military ability during the suppression of Sun En's rebellion, so he was gradually promoted. Shortly after the rebellion, Liu Yu led the remnants of the Beifu Army to defeat Huan Xuan's army and Huan Xuan, who was planning to usurp the throne, for many times. He restored the power of the Eastern Jin and gained great fame. In 420, Liu Yu established himself as Jin's capital, Jiankang, with the name "Song".During his reign, the power was centralized in the central government. He suppressed the annexation of land by family members, rectified the civil administration and promoted the poor family. After his death in 422, he was named Posthumous Emperor Wu and buried in Chunning Mausoleum.
