That’s probably true. Once Alex took a wrong turn and got lost in the mountains. About ten days later, he found his marks and returned back to his little cabin built of logs, a rude one constructed for himself in case of necessity.
Apparently it wasn’t a circle in the traditional meaning. A circle is something that if you keep in a straight line, you’ll be at the original spot. Like walking on a ring. But here if you go erratically, the result is the same.
“Why escaped?”
“I am afraid you’ll kill me. I saw the gun. ”
“I won’t. Then what do you think we shall do?”
“We’re not ready to disarm ourselves in order to make it easier for them to kill us. Set off in quest of other survivors as soon as possible. We should make an alliance against the common enemy.”
On the way home, they exchanged their conditions. Lockie lived in a cozy cave above the mountain, luring rabbits or foxes into a trap for a living. He used to be an adventurer who looks for buried treasure, enduring tremendous danger, but now doing the same thing as Alex.
