“Temperature seems even in the next room.” He muttered. “Either it’s empty, or it’s filled with golems.”
He slowly pushed open the door using his shoulder, keeping one arm vertical, one arm horizonal near the stomach----a defensive pose----and eased inside.
Thankfully, the room was not filled with golems. Instead, it seemed like some sort of armory. Pieces of weaponry were lined up neatly against the wall, swords and shields, lances and spears, and pieces of armor, all featuring the symbol of the goblin god, Ma-what be his name.
The neat state of the equipment unsettled Baskara, and it took him a moment to place it: over his years of monster-den delving, he came to know that orcs and goblins simply didn’t do organizing very well. Goblins littered their weapons, and orcs kept them in stacks.
The only candidates of this castle’s current masters would be hobgoblins.
“Sigh…” Baskara and Eren had dealt with hobgoblins before. Suffice it is to say that he wasn’t eager to repeat that experience.
But judging by the size of the armory, this infestation wasn’t large. So that’s a plus. In the middle of a sea of minuses.
