“I’ll go after him.” Eren said, stopping Reniya, who was beginning to cast a spell to pull Baskara back. “You can’t stop him when he smells gold lying unclaimed.”
“Fine.” Reniya huffed, halting her spell. “Be back soon, or Avonlea will have your faces.”
The black feline meowed to prove her master’s point. Reniya scratched her ears affectionately.
Eren managed a smile. “Yeah. See ya around.”
And in a blur, he went after Baskara.

Something was wrong about the castle.
Baskara had been through his share of adventures, and now, crouching in the bush twenty feet from the main door, he felt that the building’s atmosphere simply didn’t belong to an abandoned castle.

There is humanoid activity here. Baskara was sure of it, from the stone steps clean of moss, from the blotch of color differentiation in the outer wall, indicating a repaired hole.
He felt a presence behind him, built like a human, but trod lightly like an elf. He knew only one creature in all of Faerun who did that.
“What is it?” Eren asked, sensing his tension.
Baskara pointed to the stairs, then the wall.
