‘And when I blinked, I was back at the terrace. And after that you all know.’
Lydia seemed to have recovered, faster than Cecy did. She reached out to catch at Cecy’s hand, ‘Let’s talk about this later,’ She said urgently, ‘There are many unclear issues, but let’s solve this problem first before the bomb blows up in our faces, alright?’ She pointed to the bomb, which seemed to be rolling slowly towards the edge of the railing-free part of the terrace.
Alberto didn’t speak a word as he bent down to check the bomb, and Cecy held her breath, waiting for his response. ‘Haven’t you learned it’s better not to venture into unknown places?’ He demanded as his hands ran agilely over the smooth surface, ‘I heard it from Lydia that you once walked straight into a mirror without asking anyone how it worked.’
How did Lydia know about that? Cecy wondered. As far as she knew, only Will and herself had been there to witness, and there hadn’t been enough time for Will to tell anyone, had there been?
