Chapter Nine(5)
She arrived at the front door, then realized that she didn’t bring her key. However, she remembered that there was a spare key under one flowerpot stacked under the windowsill.
Her hand touched the handle, and to her surprise, the door swung inwards easily, which meant that she didn’t need to waste time looking for the spare door key. Normally the door would remain locked, but since this was an illusion, Cecy knocked politely once and then walked into the building. Cecy’s aunt lived in this apartment, a story down from where the younger Cecy and Rebecca used to live with their parents. They occupied the second and the third floor, which was the top-most floor. However, their parents went to another country when Cecy was thirteen, and only sent occasional e-mails back since then, and now Cecy and Rebecca lived with their aunt on the second floor, leaving the third floor empty. Though the building was three-floored, the first floor had never welcomed any renters, and they were mostly undisturbed.
