月光下的母亲 The mother in the moonlight

我跟陈老师说，我母亲病了，我要回去看她。陈老师同意了。
 I told Teacher Chen, my mother got sick, I have to go back and look after her. Chen agreed.
陈老师不可能不同意。因为现在已是下午5点，我在县中学寄宿，我家离学校有30多里。这个时候来请假，想必我母亲病得很重。
He wouldn’t disagree. Because it was 5pm then. I used to lodge in the County middle school at that moment, and my house was over 30 li away from here. My mother must be in an emergency if I ask for leave.
我不是一个好学生，我撒了谎。我母亲根本没病，我是饿了，或者说是馋了。学校食堂的饭太难吃了，天天吃咸菜，顿顿吃腌萝卜，我都吃腻了，我要回去吃一碗我母亲做的鸡蛋手擀面。
I’m not a good student, I lied, Actually, my mother didn’t get sick. I just feel hungry, or gluttonous. The dished in the school canteen is not tasty at all. Every day we eat pickles, and every meal we eat pickled-radish. I’m tired of them, to be honest. So I thought I’m going back, for a bowl of hand-rolled egg noodles from my mother.
