I opened my computer bag and searched carefully for those hologram eyeglasses that I kept at my side all the time. People pushed by, and it took me a hard time to pick the glasses up without scratching them.
Once I put on those glasses, virtual windows popped out from every entrance of the buildings on the street and turned on the satellite map. I selected the entrance of 1-3 of the APEX at the corner and was then teleported inside the building. Of course, I couldn’t be physically there; the eye glasses only allow you to see and control things remotely, so there’s no reason that I need to enter the building myself.
“Welcome to APEX” announced the speaker on the glasses.
Because the APEX is mostly controlled by the government, you only get to access certain or few floors by not being inside physically. I have been granted the access for the laboratories in the computing and design-manufacturing section—starting from floor 2330. All the students can access different sections of the APEX accordingly to what they’re best at.
I quickly selected from the floors and teleported to the meeting room on 2500. Many students and teachers had been there already, waiting for others to file in physically or online. Of course many of them came physically; they don’t make the augment glasses for you, so you have to be careful with them due to the complicated making steps.
