Chapter Six(7)
As she had expected, an ear-splitting wail shot through the air almost immediately. Though she had known it was coming, Cecy flinched, dropping Will’s hand and stumbling backwards, as if she could run away from the noise if she tried to.
The belt began to sail louder, and Cecy cringed. The noise was interrupting her attempt to think clearly. But she knew, that if Will didn’t wake up soon enough, they would most likely be surrounded by confused park-goers.
Will’s hand stirred, but as she looked down, she saw that his eyes were still closed. She hoped they wouldn’t call the police or something, Cecy thought dejectedly. Maybe they won’t......
