Cecy had a split-second feeling that she was talking to herself, and not to Cecy at all.
Her gaze seemed to look past her, into the shadows of the tall trees, further onto the street, barely visible behind it. And then she tensed. ‘Excuse me.’
Then in a moment, she was gone.
Startled at the sudden disappearance, Cecy turned automatically on the spot, trying to face the woods, and staggered under the weight of Will, temporarily forgotten, apparently by both.
Would you please finish what you are saying before vanishing?
