Will came out of his thoughts at that, and a hand reached out to help her regain her balance. He cast a look at the smooth pavement and looked back at Cecy with a raised eyebrow, but refrained from teasing her about tripping over her own feet.
‘We can go slower if you are tired,’ and he slowed down a bit, shortening his stride forwards.
Cecy could feel her face burning. What an awful excuse, for her to be tired just after getting up, but considering that he was not prying about why she stumbled in the first place......
‘Yeah, let’s go slower, thanks.’ She smiled tentatively at Will, and thought secretly she might be able to duplicate her experience just now if she had enough time.
There seemed to be no point in asking her companion, as he was still owing her an answer about mirrors. He didn’t seem to be a person that’s easy to talk with.
And they arrived at the foot of the tower, before a rusted metal gate that looked ill-fitting with the pure and bright architecture behind it.
