And even if she was content with being only a spectator, there wasn’t really much to spectate. The memories all had their differences, sure, but in essence they were mostly the same. There were patterns among feelings, relationships, places, times, types of people, events… Everything. She had seen everything. These moments she saw were repetitive and predictable, never ever changing themselves, never ever there being one that brought something new and refreshing to the table.
‘Perhaps a tinge of suffering wouldn’t be so bad…’ Hikari shuddered at the thought. Had she really gotten so bored of these memories that she would wish something bad to happen to those people? Surely not. Surely she wouldn’t want something like that. Then again, the peace, the continuous happiness… It was exciting, at first, but now it has become another mundane thing, another normal, negligible part of her life. So perhaps something to change it all wouldn’t be so bad, after all. She sighed as she looked at the pieces that were already following her. Maybe all she needed was more. Maybe amongst the shards she would find something new, something exciting. So she looked for them. And when she did, they came, rushing towards her as if they were old friends that had missed each other for a long time. She looked through them, hoping that maybe it would fill the void in her heart. She collected more and more, hoping that maybe she'd find something useful.
