The Sound of Silence(10)
The shepherd wanted to say something, but his throat was stuck.
“I hope to stay longer with you,” The boy said in regret. “But I have to go.”
He walked away and was submerged by tides of darkness, leaving the shepherd alone.
Hello darkness my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
The shepherd woke from trance, realizing himself at the entrance of Alley of Sentiment. It was a narrow and rocky lane, two flanks clothed with thick green of bushes and grass. The Alley meandered here and there, toward a destination that no one ever knew, maybe a far-flung corner of desolation, or an exit hidden somewhere in the hustling city. Lamps flicked, shedding pale streams onto the ground, as the halo of moonlight in his eye blurred by either frost or tear he could not tell. This magic-like alley can exert an influence on whoever passed by, and make one sentimental. That is the reason it got its name.
