Michael Jr. was extremely angry at my tolerance of Ripenism and my final compromise of the Church's take-away of Michael. He botched the school and threw away his teacher's computer in the trash bin, which got him a detention for a year. Both me and Ruth were government officials, so we spent most of our time in the building processing documents, while Michael could play in the orchard with the squirrels and what he believed was the apple tree that carries Michael's soul. He was becoming more and more independent every day, as when we came back late at night, saw the kitchen cleaned with some extra pizza or pasta on the table, covered with a steel cloche with a note on it that told that the noodles and ravioli are what he cooked for us. We were extremely jovial as we saw our education paid off, not in a traditional manner, but in filial piety, as suggested by the Respecting Agency of the Big Sister.
