Reniya’s blade hummed threateningly
“Well then, don’t make me make you stop existing.” The bladesinger warned.
Baskara shrugged. “Fine.” He drove his staff into the ground and went to retrieve his dagger from the orc. “You were saying, Eren?”
“The townmaster said his scouts report three bands of orcs.” The aasimar replied. “And that’s the third encampment we’ve wiped out. Yeah, I think that’s it.”
“Great. Well then’ let’s just run along back to Phandalin and get the gold pieces he promised! That’ll sustain us for some serious time.” The genasi replied, wiping off his dagger. He then took a large axe out of his belt pouch----something way to large to fit in there----walked over to the flagpole of the camp, and started chopping.
“I sometimes wonder where his pouch keeps all that stuff.” Eren muttered, folding up the parchment and sheathing his scimitars. “That pouch has to have some limit. As far as I know, he keeps a dozen daggers, several trinkets, a month’s worth of rations, a campfire, and a ballistae in there.”
“Some questions are best left unanswered.” Reniya scooped up her cat, who meowed in protest, and squeezed him. Although they----that meaning, he and Reniya----had just been traveling together for a month, much less his three years of travels with Baskara, he found he got used to her being around fairly quickly. Not like when he and Baskara first met. That incident involved orcs, blades, blood, and an explosion. Yeah. Not his fondest memory.
