Before Cecy realized what was happening, she felt a new pain as her back hit the solid cold floor of the terrace. Startled by the pain, she stared uncomprehendingly as a boy, no, Alberto stalked into sight. He thrust out his hand towards Lydia, who was lying half sprawled across Cecy’s legs, pulling her to her feet with surprising gentleness, and held out an arm to help her regain her balance as she wobbled slightly. ‘Are you alright?’ Alberto asked Lydia, his eyes deliberately staying away from Cecy who was still on the ground.
