They hadn’t noticed each other until the very end where they’d finally gotten close enough for the other person to notice what the other person was wearing. And apparently, because that was the case the girls had been caught by surprise. They were both too shocked to say anything for several minutes.
Until the smaller girl broke out in nervous laughter. “Oh my god I can’t believe he’s actually here right now! It really feels like he hasn’t left at all.” She took a few steps forward then stopped abruptly, unsure of how to proceed. This was her room after all and this was someone else’s bedroom. Should she introduce herself? Ask permission to get a closer look at him? Maybe go and sit somewhere so they would have some time alone? Or should she run away as fast as possible without letting them notice what she was doing? She had no idea.

But she didn’t think she could do either before she made any noise which may have startled him. So the only choice was to stay there awkwardly for a moment until he spoke. At least if he spoke, he might tell her why he’d come here in the first place. He seemed like the kind of guy who liked talking. He also seemed nice. Probably wouldn’t bite her head off like some of the people she knew. Maybe even smile a bit. Or laugh. That was always nice. She felt safe when she laughed. A part of her hoped his smile would be like that. A part of her didn’t mind if he never smiled but maybe if she did…
