It was raining hard outside, the rain splashing down on everything it could reach and pattering against everyone’s window. In fact, if one had the misfortune of being outside during a storm like this in April they might even see a flash of lightning or two.
That wasn’t the point, though. The point is that there was a girl standing next to a bed that was occupied by another girl lying in it. The girl on the bed was wearing a red nightgown while the other girl looked like she’d just woken up from her nap only to be found out about it. Both were looking at each other with confusion and wonder and a whole lot more questions than the situation required them to ask.
