I like how subtly the cruelty of fate is being told by author in this chapter. The lady's frown seeing her twins who doesnt bother with etiquette when eating now. The author in passing,lightly stresses upon how she is still a beautiful lady in her 30's. How both parent fails to get food for the day. How the lady say to her husband she will goes out immediately to line up for food where in truth she straight up went to that one noble guy next door where its indirectly implied that has crush on her,selling her dignity? in exchange for food.with that stacked crumpled bills in hands as a pretense to somewhat console herself,a morale buffer somewhat,that she went out to buy,and not to commit *****ery to survives,a noble lady prostitute.all this made the mention of her frown seeing her kids abandon etiquette while eating all the more meaningful,given extra depth and layers to the sentence. And not to mention the morality twist,a joke of fate,at how her husband almost commited crime but decided not to at the very last moment seeing the poor man's having family like him all the same,noble or not. For him to feel relieved after returning home that he didnt commit the crime when he found out his wife manage to secure food to last another day,when in truth his wife has been the one to sacrifice herself for the family. The husband thinking that all turn out well somehow in the end while the wife abandon her previously adhered noble life obsession.i just love when the author implies all this so well like that mobet and siatas love instance.a well written chapter,and a very, very well translated at it too.kudo author and translator.
