I wonder if the specifics of how the ritual of the Manipulator potion was completed has an effect on Audrey like with how Cattleya’s differed based on what type of blood she used and how Colin’s did depending on the divinity’s blessing. While they didn’t mention it directly the way Audrey says how she worried she would become emotionless and that she can still feel sadness makes me feel like how well one is able to resonate/empathize with the emotional response could affect their disposition as a demigod. Because Audrey was from Backlund and experienced the tragedies that evoked the feeling of sadness from the masses she understands, sympathizes with and truly understands the feelings behind them allowing to advance without becoming emotionally detached. If on the other hand she wasn’t from Backlund and didn’t share in the emotions of the people, instead just viewing the mass a spectator, she would still be able to fulfill the requirements of the ritual but because she had a detached perspective as an outsider it could lead her to disposition being m emotionally detached being a Spectator who simply reads the story for the information rather than to enjoy the story, so to speak.
