The hunt was successful afterall. The author has now tied its novel’s folklore to our earth.. not sure how to feel about this fourth wall breaking but I suppose it is done in the spirit of lovecraftian horror.

Wonder what’s sealed in the top of Botis’s magic box. He was told it was dangerous but now I feel like it could potentially sentient too (and maybe on our side). Maybe the sealed artifact or whatever is sealed in it is like Arrodes and subservient to Klein and that’s why it refused to open, it sensed the gray fog.

I sort of doubt it. I think it was actually being more sinister, like the 0-08 quill. It wanted its owner to perish so it failed to activate at the critical moment.
