But there was something wrong, for she could find herself, once more, losing the hang of it; hurtling backwards from the park in her mind. What was wrong?
Confusion rattled her thoughts, like white fog covering the windows in winter, making everything look hazy and unreal. What if she failed? Would she be trapped once more in chaos?
Still pondering the question, the image frozen in her mind, Cecy suddenly felt a hand, lightly brushing away the mist. The glass was see-through once more, and though shocked, she instinctively returned her full attention to the park that she had envisioned.
This time, she imagined herself in the picture, with her sister Becks, running among the fruit trees, playing hide and seek with their friends. The environment seemed sharper suddenly, and she could remember more details; the golden sunlight peeking through the branches, the calm mirror-like lake in the distance. She could almost hear the pattering of small feet, the panting and laughter.
It was so close......Unconsciously she reached out her hand as if to reach it, reach her memories and the world she had grown up in, belonged to. She raced towards the light, accidentally knocking over a boy as she ran, whose blond hair momentarily blurred her vision, but she didn’t slow down. She had to succeed, the need was in her every step forwards, and she didn’t look back, not even to ask if the boy was alright or to help him up.
