A tiny smile made her lips twitch upwards at the corners. A warm memory, carefully preserved, about her home, perhaps. Her eyes had closed once more, and the resemblance was clearer.
‘Hey, how is my new white dress, isn’t it pretty?’
A teenaged girl spun lightly on her tiptoes, her white dress billowing out like a flower about to bloom. She halted, looked at herself in the mirror with barely disguised joy, her lips curving into a full-hearted smile, showing perfect teeth. A boy was visible further from the mirror, who seemed to have no interest in selecting clothes for himself.
