Rod Rice, a famous architect, asked why rice was so popular.

People who had the time to read his papers said that it’s “a great way to get rid of all your troubles and help you sleep better at night.” He asked why the food is called rice when he knew perfectly well there were other names for this.
有时间阅读他的论文的人说，这是“摆脱所有烦恼的好方法，帮助你在晚上睡得更好。”他问为什么这种食物叫米饭，他明明知道米饭还有别的名字。
His answer was, “because it’s not rice.” The people in charge said the same thing about this, too.
Rod had been asked this question hundreds of times since being hired by the company as a junior architect; it’s almost a routine now. But it still throws him off every once in a while.
